How to convert an old build-in bookcase into display unit

I have this old build-in bookcase by my fireplace. They are build in the 1950s. I like them because of the old world charm they have but it just not useable for me because they have five low height shelving that are built for storing books. I do not have that many beautiful books for display, in fact, I need a display shelving for some of my collection.

So, we decided to covert the bookcase into display cabinate. We took out all the shelvings from the bookcase, repainted the whole build-in units. Added pilaster and clip to the side of the build-in wall. You can get the pilaster from local hardwood store but we get them from a internet website because of the price different.

We also found some strip LED light from local hardwood store that we could installed along side with the pilaster.

Reinstalled the shelving to the right height. With the adjustable system we managed to put my shelving to the height that we need for displaying my collect. Also, with the build-in LED strip light, We managed to show my collection off better. The LED strip light has adjustable brightness. We it work really well with the display. We then rearrange the furniture around the fireplace. Here you can see how the room is look like now.
